The Dying Light by Ann Cleeves 5 stars

​Newest DI Venn series installment. A good read, but slow moving and dry. Plenty of potential suspects, it took approximately half the story before I knew who had done the deed, although I did not have the total story and a bit of surprise on the slight twist at the end.   I like Matthew Venn, he struggles with his insecurity and he truly has a real streak of honesty and humanity. This is a good read, nothing flashy, just a down to earth whodunnit.

Cold Rage by Toni Anderson 5 Stars

​Love this newest book by Toni Anderson.  Sebastian and Nora are thrown together on the hunt for a father on the run with his kidnapped daughter. So much action and angst happening in this story, the plot twists abound and this book is now at the top of my “Cold” series books. The hunt is on, the twists are twisty, the romance is steamy and the HEA is possible. Grab this new read, you won’t be able to put it down.

The Birth of the Witch by Nora Roberts 5 stars

​The first in the newest trilogy. I love all the Nora Roberts books, some more than others. The trilogies are my least favorite of her books, just mainly because of the wait between installments, and I am impatient.  This book was slow for me, but part was the dreaded ending, as I knew it would end on the cliff, (it did). We meet Neve, Caden and the rest and the ending is unexpected.  Now we wait….grab this first in the trilogy and hold on….

Mingle All The Way by Susan Mallery

​Wishing Tree sounds so much like the perfect place to visit for the Christmas aficionado. Very high maintenance for the residents but so much fun. Two sisters find their lives upended, dealing with romance angst and drama, wondering whether they will have the wonderful life each did not expect, yet find themselves dreaming of. Grab this newest and sweet Christmas story gift.  I had read these previously, both worth the revisit. Enjoy. 

Home for the Homicides by Elle Cosimano and Hannah Morrissey

​So much angst. This story didn’t grab my attention. I found the narrator irritating, Holly and Mark were just too silly. The town was the topping on the total list of “oh, please”. Just could not like this story. Giving it a good rating, because I may not appreciate the book, but someone else will.

Fury in Death by J.D. Robb 5 Stars

​J,D. never disappoints. Yet another thriller in the In Death Series. This newest thriller involves a disturbing scenario that Eve is pushed to unravel before time runs out for the intended victims. The twist (and there is one) hinges on the evildoers and the lengths corruption will go to for greed. Of course the side kicks play a major role and we meet more Peabody’s and McNab’s, along with the new home. Don’t miss this one, there is a much awaited surprise at the end. Excellent read.

Reap & Sow by Charlotte Plumb

​Not my favorite book. There are parts that were enjoyable, mostly it was not for me. And I wondered why the author left the story with such an awful  feeling. Am giving this 5 stars, just because I didn’t enjoy this, someone else may.
